  2. We everyone are aware of it that whatever you eat or drink that converts into calorie, and that is used by our body according to need. Whenever you eat more than your body needs per day, body stores those extra calories as a fat, which is responsible for weight gain.

    For example- if your daily calorie need is 3000 and your getting 4000, it means you're gaining 1000 calories per day, which will cause weight gain.

  4. BMI is a standard globally defined by WHO which shows whether you have right weight according to your age and height. It is basically an easy calculation-

    Metabolism is the process by which your body converts what you eat and drink into energy. Even when you're at rest, your body needs energy for functions such as breathing, circulating blood and repairing cells. The number of calories your body uses for these basic functions is known as your basal metabolic rate.

Rather than slow metabolism, factors more likely reasons to weight gain include:

  2. Getting too little physical activity
  3. Genetics and family history
  4. Certain medications
  5. Unhealthy habits, such as routinely not getting enough sleep

    Blood sugar has a direct impact on your weight as it affects how hungry and how energetic you are (if you have energy you're much more likely to exercise!) If your blood sugar is balanced you are less likely to have a disproportionally large appetite, and your body will be more apt to use fat (energy) rather than storing it.

    Direction:
    Place the cinnamon in a mug and cover with 8 ounces of boiling water. Steep for 15 minutes before straining. Drinking 1-2 times a day.

    Green tea has long been debated as a weight loss aid, and more research is needed to confirm or deny how well it works. While some studies have turned up nothing, others have identified three main components in green tea that could help manage weight-caffeine, catechins, and theanine. Caffeine is just an overall boost to your system, and speeds up a number of bodily processes, including metabolism related to weight (technically speaking, metabolism refers to any and all biological processes in a living organism needed to sustain life.)

    Direction:
    Place green tea and ginger in a strainer or sieve and cover with 8 ounces of boiling water. Steeping green tea for too long can leave it with a bitter taste, so don't exceed 3-4 minutes. You can stir in a little raw honey if you really need to sweeten it, but avoid milk or sugar at all costs. Drink 1-2 cups daily on an empty stomach.

    Rose petals act as a very gentle diuretic. Diuretics encourage your kidneys to put more sodium (salt) into your urine. This excess salt in turn draws water from your blood, decreasing the amount of water in your circulatory system. This is not "permanent" weight loss-just water weight-but the action encourages you to drink more and keep your system flushed clean and hydrated.

    Direction:
    Place the pot on the stove, put in the rose petals, and add just enough distilled water to completely cover them. If some float to the top it's not a big deal. Cover the pot with a tightly fitting lid and simmer until the petals lose most of their color, about 15-20 minutes. Strain the liquid into a glass jar and keep in the refrigerator for up to 6 days. Drink about ½-1 cup every morning on an empty stomach.

    Ginseng is yet another valuable herb that is famous for its weight-loss benefits. Just like green tea, ginseng will speed up your metabolism and make you feel more energetic throughout the day. However, it is believed that regular ginseng use can also benefit those who suffer from diabetes, since studies on mice have shown significant improvements in insulin sensitivity. Nonetheless, neither green tea nor ginseng are miracle herbs that will work their magic overnight – this is why you need to give them a 'helping hand' and improve your diet to benefit from them to the fullest.

    Roughly chop the root and measure out 1 teaspoon per cup of water. Bring water to a boil and then pour over the ginseng, allowing it to steep for 5-9 minutes. Strain, add honey or lemon if you like, and drink 1-2 times daily.

    Dandelion tea has diuretic properties that cause water weight loss. It has no calories, therefore is an excellent choice for weight loss. Taking dandelion tea before meals or using in your cooking promotes fat and cholesterol breakdown, as it makes you feel full. It detoxifies the body to lower the fat content and blood cholesterol, resulting in weight loss

    Direction:
    Pour a cup of boiling water over the dandelion and peppermint and steep, covered, for 5-10 minutes. Strain, add lemon to taste if you like, and drink a cup twice daily. You can also make this with fresh dandelion leaves/roots and fresh peppermint, just use a rough handful of the fresh leaves for the amount. If you do use fresh, be absolutely certain that there have been no chemicals applied to them- this is especially important for dandelion. If you use dandelion on a regular basis, I suggest growing your own.

    Direction:
    Pour boiling water over sage and steep for 4-5 minutes. Strain, add lemon to taste if you like, and drink 1-2 times daily.

    Chia seeds have been popular in health food circles for years, for good reason -- they're relatively affordable, highly nutritious and have a mild flavor that works in many dishes.
    Two tablespoons of chia seeds have almost 10 grams of fiber. That's around 40 percent of the recommended daily intake. Diets high in fiber have been linked to weight loss. According to 2015 research, eating 30 grams of fiber daily may help you lose as much weight as if you followed a more complicated diet.

    For the study, 90 overweight or obese adults consumed either a placebo or 25 grams of chia seeds mixed with water before their first and last meals of the day. Unfortunately, the results showed no impact on body mass, body composition, or disease risk factors.

Either that or you hear that you should drink ice cold water to burn more calories. Not exactly. The idea that ice cold water burns more calories because your body tries to "warm it up" first may technically be true, but the effect is miniscule (like 8 calories miniscule.) Rather, you need to be hydrated for your body to run smoothly, and that includes burning fat. It flushes bad stuff through your system, and also helps curb appetite.

    Drink at least 8 cups of fresh water every day.

    Coconut oil doesn't raise blood glucose levels and it is processed immediately by the body and turned into energy. It isn't stored in the body where it can be turned into fat. For this reason it boosts the metabolic rate.

    Direction:
    Twice a day, take 1 tablespoon of coconut oil. You can take it before, during, or after a meal. If you tend to struggle with proportions, I suggest taking it before you eat, or if dessert is your demon, take it right after dinner. In terms of substitution I've used it in place of olive oil and love it.

    This is an awesome breakfast/snack. The probiotics in yogurt do wonders for the digestive track and maintains a healthy balance of gut flora that optimizes digestion and the breakdown of certain substances (like fat.) When you digestive track is running smoothly, your body is processing things better and it's not as likely to pack on the pounds. The honey is just a little added (healthy) sweetness to satisfy any cravings you might have. The beautiful thing here is that you really don't feel like you're getting shorted any flavor or fullness when you eat it. For optimum weight-loss awesomeness, try low fat yogurt.

    Direction:
    Eat this for a snack or breakfast, adding on the honey for flavor. Feel free to try adding fresh fruit or even oats for a little variety.
